Why do women pick the worst guy to have a baby with to get married to? Do they just like being miserable?

I have a friend, she is 24 and has a great job as a RN Nurse, makes good money! She has own house, car, pills her own bills and is beautiful. She met this guy, who just got out of an divorce for beating his ex-wife and they have 3 kids together which he doesn't take care of because he loves to party at clubs and have bar fights etc (i know women love these types of idiots). She started going out with this nerd for 3 month, got PREGNANT by him. He told her he wants NOTHING TO DO with the baby which is due in july because loves to party and start fights. He is currently in Jail for knocking out somebody at a bar for stepping on his shoes. He has no job, lives from friend to friend houses and smoke dope. So my real question why do women pick guys like this? Is it the challenge or just the danger and excitement?
