Little spots on skin in my crotch area?

I'm a man. This evening I took off my underwear and noticed what looked like many small brown (dried blood?) spots on my underwear. I noticed some small spots on my skin and was able to pick those off. I shower daily and take very good care of myself. What could this be? I'm going to sleep with white underwear on to see if anything shows up in the morning.
